Discovery = Dominating discourse.
America found: Who has the right to say that they found it?
2 (old) main macro development discourses:
- Truman: Capital, science and technology = economic progress = peace.
- UN: Total restructuring of "underdeveloped" societies. Painful adjustments.
Meaning system --> becomes a "truth".
Acknowledging others / other cultures = modesty / critical self reflection.
